MAGIC 2026 :
A Celebration of Indian Dance
MAGIC 2026 is our next stage production at Dance Place — and it’s going to be something really special.
We’re bringing together Bollywood, South Indian and contemporary dance into one performance that tells a story from start to finish. It’s not just a series of choreographies, but a full experience we build together over a few months.
If you’ve ever wanted to be part of a proper stage production, this is your chance.
The show will take place in September 2026 (on a weekend) at a theatre in Rotterdam with a possible additional performance.

What to Expect
This process is about more than just learning routines.
You’ll be part of building something from the ground up — rehearsing as a group, improving your performance, and eventually stepping onto the stage together.
It takes commitment, but it’s also a lot of fun, and the final performance makes it completely worth it.
Who can join?
This is open to anyone who wants to commit to the process and perform on stage.
You don’t need to be a professional dancer — but you do need to be willing to learn, show up, and be part of a group working towards something together.
If you enjoy Indian dance and want to push yourself a bit further, you’ll fit right in.
Ages
18 and upwards
Rehearsals
We’ll start rehearsals in mid-June 2026 and work towards the performance in September.
Frequency: 1–2 sessions per week
Focus: choreography, formations, performance
Based in Rotterdam
Additional sessions in Den Haag (depending on the group)
Pricing
To be part of MAGIC 2026, dancers join through a course-style structure:
Monthly payment of €80 over 3 months (June–September)
Upfront payment of €225 (= approx. €10 per session)
After you sign up
You will receive an invitation in May for an introduction meeting in June 2026, where the whole crew meets for the first time. Together, we’ll visit the performance hall, toast to the journey, and dive into the details — what’s our story, and which songs do we want to dance to?

Yes. This is a dance showcase created by all of us together and before going on the floor, we go through months of practice to make sure everyone feels confident. If this is your first time dancing on stage, take a leap of faith and join the crew.
-
Practice sessions will take place primarily in Rotterdam.
Depending on the group, additional sessions may be scheduled in Den Haag. -
Treat your sign up similar to a dance course sign up - you book your spot, then show up for practice according to the schedule. During the practice sessions, you will not only learn choreographed routines to indian songs, but also learn to dance in a group with various formations.
-
Practice sessions are held 4 to 5 days a week but not everyone dances everyday. You will be assigned a group and together with your group, you might be dancing once or twice a week max. If you have time restrictions, voice this during the introduction session and it will be taken into account.
-
Once the dance set with songs are finalized, we will start working/thinking about the costumes together.
-
The price per month includes all the practice sessions, props if any and all technical requirements for the stage performance. Exclusions: Costumes.
